DRawing

Explorations in Drawing
Dimensional, perspective and volumetric drawing applied to natural, man‐made forms, environment and the figure. Rendering techniques, skills and exploration of media integrated with formal composition.

Perceptual Drawing 
Various approaches to drawing intended to develop skills, perception, and visual acuity. Introduction to a broad range of subject matter and a variety of graphic media.

Two of the most difficult things to draw are generally hands and faces. Students shy away from capturing a likeness or including hands and feet. Close observation, positive instruction, and seeing the nuances of perspective, line, shading and form, helps students visually render the tough subject matter.

Katie Greenhill is currently a University of Illinois, Chicago graduate student studying biomedical visualization, which includes  Medical Illustration and Biomedical Communications at UIC Biomedical Visualization. Katie graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2D Studies from the UT Department of Art. While at UT, Katie worked with traditional drawing and sculptural methods as well as medical illustration and new media approaches to delivering medical visualization. Katie interned under the direction of Roy Schneider at the UT Inter-professional Immersive Simulation Center.
